In Florida, The United States Built The World's Largest Photovoltaic Facilities

U.S. FPL (Florida Power and lighting) company in the June 30, 2008 announcement, in Florida, the construction of new solar energy projects, including the world's largest photovoltaic solar energy facilities and a "hybrid" energy centre, the latter Will be solar thermal technology and the existing combined cycle power generation devices combine.

FPL will be in the state building 110 MW solar photovoltaic and solar thermal power generation facilities, as the state of Florida on the 2nd of solar energy projects. These projects are:
1. DeSoto new generation of solar energy center. Plan to the end of 2008 in Florida DeSoto County building, DeSoto project will provide 25 MW solar photovoltaic capacity, making it the world's largest photovoltaic solar energy facilities.
2. Martin new generation of solar energy center. In early 2009 plans to FPL's existing Martin plant base construction, Martin project will provide 75 MW solar thermal capacity, innovative "hybrid" design, with the existing combined cycle power generation devices combine, when a solar Steam power generation, require use of fossil fuels will be reduced.
3. Coastal a new generation of space solar energy center. In early 2009 plans to Kennedy Space Center building, the Space Coast project will provide 10 MW solar photovoltaic capacity.

According to the three bases will be used for the annual total to prevent nearly 3.5 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions, equivalent to the annual roadworthiness 25,000 vehicle emissions. These projects total 110 MW solar photovoltaic power generation and thermal power generation, when implemented, will enable FPL companies to become the world's first use of a solar energy company. FPL Group is the first U.S. wind power company.
